Currently working on three pieces.
- A ‘patchwork quilt’ with monoprinted fabric pieces and embroidery

2. ‘Spinning’ plates with napkins – these plates are made from waste bits of acrylic, as I experimented with shaping them around a ceramic plate. I also tried some vacuum forming, but honestly just ended up making a plastic plate that just looks like it came from the pound shop! I really like the slightly folded nature of these ‘bowls’, I am going to see if I can make some more and also cut out the plate shap. The fabric is screenprinted with a range of things which make up the mental load for mothers. I want to experiment more with foiling, and some embroidery here.

3. Poise shirt. Not sure where this one will end up – it started with a shirt that I took apart and printed a bra motif on. I like the contrast of the ‘masculine’ shirt and ‘feminine’ bra, as well as the clashing colours. It deals with the need for women to appear attractive and pliable for their partners in a heterosexual relationship, ‘taking apart’ these notions and rebuilding them. Is the shirt for women or for men? Is it hiding or revealing? I want to embroider on these also.
