Initial thoughts: I’m really excited by the opportunities for play, learning and challenge in this course. I don’t want to be bound by any one technique but to discover the ones which inspire me and see if they can push and stretch my current obsessions/preoccupations. I’m thinking a lot about the role of women in today’s society, the hurdles they face and the boxes that society wants to put them in. Limitations/expectations and how we can expose these and challenge them.
I absolutely loved the cyanotype workshop. Especially the mark making with paint and stencils, and how these interacted with the painted cyanotype and white paper. I intend to experiment more with this.
