At a Sun Kil Moon gig earlier in the month, they used some striking lighting for the venue: St John’s Church in Hackney. The music was downbeat indie folk, but in contrast, lit up with candles and UV lights, the place had a blue and purple club-like glow. The ceiling was white and cavernous, and etched with water marks from roof leaks, creating beautiful abstract stained patterns.
